Board Game

The basic element of the board game is the board itself. The grand door of the fort opens and on the back of it, you get the playing board.

The board has 100 places from the birth of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to the grand kingship ceremony – the Rajyabhishek. Each place on the board is actually a historic event that had happened in the legend’s life.

As with any journey, it has ups and downs. With respect to the type of event – good or bad – the player landing on it wins or loses a specific amount.

There are three stoppage points on the board. At 30, 46 and 71 the historic events are Killing Afzal (30), ShahisteKhan looting Pune (46) and the Purandar treaty (71). Since these milestones cannot be missed, players irrespective of what they get on the dice, are to stop at these points.

Mawala Cards

The board comprises 20 Mawala Cards. Each card is of the various Swarajya warriors who had actually played a vital role in this journey. Each card has a serial number. At the beginning of the game this deck is to be arranged and placed in ascending order.

The number of Mawala signs on the Mawala dice will enable the player to draw a respective number of cards from Mawala or forts card deck.

It is not allowed to draw all three cards of the same type at a time.

Possession of Mawala card implies that the respective Mawala – Swarajya Warrior – is with the player possessing it. The mentions of places where respective Mawala has contributed is on the card.

So, if another player lands on the event where a Mawala card possessed by you has his contribution, the respective player will pay you 200 hones!  In case you yourself land on such a place on the board; you get paid by the accountant.

Signs on card

Each card also has icons, as follows:

  • Signifies active battleship participation (1 icon 100 hones)

  • Signifies the honor received in the courts of our King (1 icon 100 hones)

  • Signifies the personal fondness our King used to have for the individual (1 icon 100 hones)
